….Tell me, what is it you plan to do,

With your one wild and precious life?

How does one respond ?

How do we know how to navigate the various aspects of our complex daily lives, let alone handle the times of overwhelm or even tragedy?  Many of us are feeling disconnected without even knowing fully why, or are feeling stuck and without options or a sense of meaning.  I believe you are someone who wants a deeper connection with yourself and who desires to change some part of your current life.  I believe you know that learning about yourself will help you achieve change. Perhaps you are motivated by having seen other people make changes which then give them even more insight into who they desire to be and how they desire to live.

I have learned that having someone who genuinely desires to understand you and your inner experience is crucial to your own deeper self-understanding, self- compassion, and change.  There is also considerable evidence indicating that we experience greater health when we feel deeply connected to others.  Therapy can be a time when, through the objectivity, insight, and supportive presence of the therapist, you can develop the relational skills required for deeper connections with others as well as other coping skills that will help you persevere through complex and difficult times.

I often use concurrent therapies depending on your circumstances. These might include evidence- based practices such as  CBT, brief solution focused, collaborative problem solving, as well as using somatic (body-based)  mindfulness,  Neuro-developmental methods (brain-based), experiential (play, art, role rehearsal), and narrative therapies so that your experience becomes more fully integrated.
